Introduction to the UK postgraduate academic culture (My Dundee resource)

Taught Master’s Essentials: Introduction to the UK postgraduate academic culture is designed to support you as you transition into your new taught postgraduate studies.

The course is available in the Organisations section of My Dundee, and is designed so that you can work your way through the material at your own pace. The aim is to help you adapt to your new learning environment and understand key concepts and University conventions.

There are six main content sections:

  • Developing a Master’s Mindset (autonomy)
  • Being Critical
  • Conducting Effective Secondary Research
  • Understanding Plagiarism, Referencing, and Academic Misconduct
  • Understanding How You’ll Be Taught
  • Understanding How You’ll Be Assessed
