Resolving start date errors

Due to the way that you now change the due date in Turnitin, it is possible to set the start date in the Turnitin LTI and change the due date from Blackboard to a date before the start date. Once you’ve done this, Turnitin will have an error that prevents the submission point from being created.

When you see this, you’ll need to change the due date to be past the start date. If you don’t know when the start date is, you can change the due date to something far in advance (try a year ahead).

Go to the Course Content page and click on the three dots to the right of the Turnitin item and click Edit. Please note that this does not launch the LTI.

In the side panel that will appear, edit the due date and click Save when you’re done.

Once you’ve done that, you can open the Turnitin submission point and change the start date.  After you’ve changed that, repeat the process above to change the due date back to the date of your choice.
