The 100% polluted water popsicles.

At fist glance that may look like something you would expect to find at an over priced artisan cafe but be assure these are defiantly not for consumption.

This product as described by design boom as “sickly ‘pollution popsicles’” is a product made up of polluted water to disrupt to norm and show the harmful rivers, lakes and beaches of Taiwan due to to urbanisation and economic growth.

Its successful design was created by National Taiwan University students who interesting decided to make the link between the edible and unedible. The 100% polluted popsicle really is that. These ‘popsicles’ are made from real water samples taken form the river lakes and beaches which were then cleverly designed to stay frozen under a layer of resin to hold the iconic popsicle shape. Even complete with a wood stick with writing on. The team behind this design wanted to highlight ‘what is beautiful and what is problematic’.

Perfectly distasteful, this design truly provokes the senses of not just imagery but also taste. A misleading way to make a trendy food into something repulsive.
