Past projects

Whilst some students might have a range of ideas for their projects on this SSC I know that for some coming up with an idea can be more tricky. It’s always good to pick a topic focus that interests you and you’re curious to learn more about. I’d advise not picking somethig that you find easy, go for something that you and your peers find a bit tricky.

A digital learning resource covers a whole range of prossibilities. It might be a voice over Powerpoint recording or someother form of video that’s a stop go animation or includes your art work. You might want to produce a series of podcasts, develop a website or curate a collection of content around a particular topic. Other possibilities include sketchnotes or an iBook.

Think about the sorts of resources that help your own learning for inspiration. Take a look to at some of the work produced by students in previous years to see if they might spark some creative thinking.

iBooks

Book cover with title, "Basics of ECG" and a cartoon character of a doctor in the bottome left hand corner and in the right an illustration of a hospital bed and above a bag of blood. For those of you with a Macbook, one option to consider is an iBook, Apple’s ebook publishing software. Over the years a number of students have created iBooks on the SSC and for 4th year projects. U Bhalraam created a book on the Basics of ECG which has been published on the iBooks Store. You can find out more about how Raam develped his iBook on this blog post.

Videos

Here are some examples of videos that students have created on this SSC.

First up one of a series of three video on the larynx from Zoe Kirkham-Mowbray.

Next Laura Barry’s video on parathyroid hormone.

This next one from Ailsa Peters has an educational focus and looks at the Mind Palace.
