Medical science made major improvements in the past decades for better or worse. In our presentation, it is shown to have raised ethical issues especially in the field of designer babies. Designer babies were supposed to make newborns disease-free but as time goes on and science improves, we can foresee that designer babies are not only about that it is also about choosing other aspects of the babies’ features. This is directly correlated with how much money one puts into their baby. Although this was supposed to be for the greater good of everybody, it might lead to racism and discrimination due to the physical differences it provides and increase the class division due to the cost one might pay to have their baby designed.

If we can design our own babies, do you think that all babies will be the same, will they be identical since the society creates the idea of perfection (for example being skinny and have blue eyes) ?
I think this could be determined by culture. maybe in different parts of the world people would still look different but, much more similar to those of their own class and culture.
Do you think the positives or negatives currently win in the field of designer babies?
i think in the short term it could be positive in terms of curing diseases, but in the long term it could be detrimental because of the cultural and social issues
Do you think that the impacts of Designing a Baby would be beneficial in the future?
the medical aspects yes, the cultural ones no
If this were the case that everyone could designer their baby in the future do u think people will just become clones of other people who are seen as the beauty standard of that generation causing everyone to look very similar ?
