What is CAN?

CAN isn’t just an acronym; it symbolises our commitment to circularity within the arts. The Circular Arts Network aims to revolutionise how we approach art creation, consumption, and disposal by promoting principles of reusability, recycling, and regeneration. It’s a community-driven initiative that seeks to inspire creativity while minimising environmental impact.

As we embark on this journey towards sustainable art practices, it’s essential to uphold the values of respect and responsibility. Here’s how we can ensure the CAN Mini Depot remains a space for everyone to enjoy:

1. Respect the Space: Treat the mini depot with care and respect. Keep it clean and organised at all times.

2. Use Resources Responsibly: Utilise the supplies responsibly. Please take only what you need for your immediate use and avoid hoarding supplies.

3. Promote Mindful Consumption: Be mindful of the environment and avoid unnecessary wastage of supplies.

4. Respect Others’ Needs: Be considerate of other students’ needs and prioritise sharing resources equitably.

5. Follow Staff Instructions: Adhere to any additional instructions provided by CreateSpace staff.

6. Adhere to the Return Policy: Promptly return any unused or extra items to their designated shelves for others to use.

7. Maintain Cleanliness: Refrain from consuming food or drinks while handling items in the mini depot to maintain cleanliness.

8. Handle Equipment Safely: Handle tools and equipment with care to prevent accidents and damage.

9. Support the Donation Policy: If you have extra craft supplies or items that you no longer need, consider bringing them to one of CreateSpace’s Craft Swap events or donate them to the mini depot for others to use.
