Development of final models
I developed my ideas further into four separate models which all take into consideration my most important aspect of the design: the views.
I started by doing some simple sketches of each model in context of the landscape with a little person for scale, this helped me gather a rough idea of what it looked like before I made models, both physical and 3D modelled using CAD software.
(1) The basic shed with two missing walls.

To test the stability of the structure, I made a physical model. The cardboard and tape proved to be very flimsy so i pierced it with a barbecue skewer to make sure it would stand. It made me think about researching different materials to make sure it is study enough for Tentsmuir.
Physical model
I made a cad model to experiment with different materials and wall thicknesses. In the end I went with wood cladding as I wouldn’t want it to stand out too much from the landscape and it can be locally sourced.
It also helped me get a more accurate representation of scale.

(2) A wide, open shed with two views.

There were a few issues when building the model as I had made one of the sides too short so it didn’t meet with the side of the roof.
I made a simplified model which looked a lot better.
