In October 2022 the School of Education and Social Work, the School of Humanities and the School of Social Sciences merged to form the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law (SHSL). The newly formed School was awarded an Athena Swan Bronze award in July 2023.
A focus on gender equality is integral to the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, which we strive to embed across all we do. Encouraging the celebration of diversity, promotion of equality and awareness-raising about issues affecting our staff and students and communities and cultures more widely is integral to our ethos.
