For our final Webinar of 2023, on 23rd Nov at 16:00 (UCT), we welcome Dr. Louise Drumm, Opeyemi Akindehin and Geou Akshil SK, from Edinburgh Napier University.

This seminar will report on a multi-phase project at Edinburgh Napier University where anonymous data is being collected from students on their attitudes and experiences of using generative AI tools for their studies. The first phase of data collection (March to May 2023) is complete and the first part of this session will present the findings which demonstrate the widespread adoption of generative AI and the implications for the future of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education. The second part of the seminar will present the themes emerging from the second phase. The final part will be contributions from Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association student sabbatical officers, who will share their understandings of their peers’ concerns and attitudes.

Dr Louise Drumm is Associate Professor in Digital Education in the Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement at Edinburgh Napier University. She leads the MSc in Blended and Online Education and has been leading the university’s response to generative AI in education through an informed, critical digital pedagogy approach.
