The Project
This module was created by student Lindsay Garrick and Illustrations by Medical Art student placement Lucy Southwell, supervised by Eve Laws. Supervised and supported by Dr Shalini Gupta (Lecturer, Pharmacology and Therapeutics). The module focuses on eco friendly prescribing, with a series of case examples. Illustrations were needed to show the extent of prescription drugs in our water supply, as well as case example illustrations of patients. The module was piloted to 5th years and would become compulsory to 5th years in the following year.
The extent of medication in our eco system – from water treatment plants not removing pharmaceuticals to it’s eventual absorption by animals.
