Learning and Design Technology Lead

I lead the development of the digital learning environment that supports our UG programmes, and I lead TILT who work in partnership with staff as we seek effective ways to enhance the student learning experience. My academic background is Applied Physics at Edinburgh Napier University where my PhD involved mathematical modelling of spectroscopy data from a clinical MRI scanner. More recently I completed a PgDip in Educational Technology with TESOL, and became a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Teaching Support Technician

In my current role I provide technical support to staff in the lecture theatres and other learning spaces at Ninewells. I collaborate closely with the central University AV Support Team to resolve technical issues and to upgrade the equipment to improve the AV experience for everyone. I demonstrate how to record presentations using YUJA, how to use Microsoft Teams and Collaborate Virtual Classrooms for hybrid teaching and meetings, and how to use other interactive classroom technologies such as Mentimeter. I assist my TILT colleagues to maintain the information and learning materials on the MBChB Moodle platform. I have a Biological Science background and previous experience as an educator, and I enjoy working with educators to support the student learning experience.
