Project Title: ICU Illustrated Presentation
Project Sponsor: Dr Pavan Bangalore, Undergraduate Lecturer and Anaesthetist
TILT Medical Artist: Eve Laws
The medical students are first introduced to ICU in their 4th year with a presentation. The Medical Artist was approached with adding a creative, unique and engaging flair to the presentation that at the time lacked visuals. Dr Pavan Bangalore requested an updated version of the presentation, containing all original information alongside engaging and original graphics.
To begin, the presentation was drafted. The illustrative direction was inspired by paper cut-out artwork and its 3D effect, deliberately chosen for its creativity and its ability to enhance the complex ICU-related information, making it more engaging and memorable. After the creative direction was approved, colour was added. The anaesthesia team at Ninewells hospital also reviewed the presentation upon completion.
Final Outcome
The 34 page PDF is a successful piece of material now used in the curriculum. Below are a few screen captures of the presentation.
