About the Team
The Technology and Innovation in Learning Team (TILT) develop online teaching and learning resources for the Undergraduate Medical Programme at the University of Dundee. TILT develop formative assessment resources, provide bespoke visuals and monitor and update VLE’s. We also provide training and guidance for staff and students.
Stephen Bruce
Learning and Design Technology Lead
I lead the development of the digital learning environment that supports our UG programmes, and I lead TILT who work in partnership with staff as we seek effective ways to enhance the student learning experience. My academic background is Applied Physics at Edinburgh Napier University where my PhD involved mathematical modelling of spectroscopy data from a clinical MRI scanner. More recently I completed a PgDip in Educational Technology with TESOL, and became a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
Eve Laws
Medical Artist
Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, I am the Medical Artist in the TILT team. I create illustrations, 3D models, infographics and animations to enhance both student and staff learning. I have an extensive interest in the relationship between art and science.
Chris Kennedy
Technology Lead
My role is to introduce new technology to improve content and delivery of teaching within the School of Medicine for both staff and students. Front end development and user interface is a large part of my job. I also develop learning resources and support the student’s selected components with their digital learning projects.

Aysha Mohideen
Learning Technologist
In my current role, I provide technical support to staff in the lecture theatres and other learning spaces at Ninewells. I work closely with the central University AV Support Team to resolve technical issues and upgrade classroom equipment, enhancing the AV experience for everyone. I also conduct training sessions for staff on Mentimeter and other classroom technologies.
I support the Year 1-3 MBChB program by maintaining the Moodle platform. I work on creating and updating quizzes, ensuring that the course content is current and well-organized. With a background in Biological Science and previous experience as an educator, I enjoy collaborating with educators to enhance the student learning experience.

Learning Technologist and Content Developer
I develop and update content for the Medical School’s learning platforms and create new and interactive tools to support teaching.
Carl Franks
Technical Development Lead
I develop & maintain the systems & technologies supporting our UG & PG online services.
I primarily perform server administration, software administration, database development, and user management.
