The atmosphere of the opening night was buzzing with energy and excitement, ranging from postgraduate students who were ecstatic to receive their awards at the prizegiving and showcase their final pieces, to proud and overjoyed staff, family, and friends watching over them.
Doors opened at 18:00, allowing all guests to head upstairs and settle in for the welcome from the Dean of the School, Anita Taylor, and the Interim Principal of the University of Dundee, Nigel Seaton. They were then given the privilege of watching our esteemed students receive their prizes on stage, followed by the opportunity to get a first look at the Masters Show 2025!

I had the personal honour of being shown Sara Marshall’s work on the opening night, with a thorough explanation of the research that has gone on in the background of creating these pieces. If you get the opportunity to come along, I truly recommend a quick stop by Studio 509 in the Crawford Building to see Sara’s artwork – you will be welcomed with true enthusiasm and a big smile.
