Exam Essentials

For many of us, the end of semester means one thing: exams. Whether you’re new to university exams, nervous about writing an in-person exam for the first time, or uncertain about the best techniques for online exams, our programme of face-to-face support and online resources can help you improve your revision and produce your best work.

New Resources

If you’d like to improve your exam performance, the best place to start is with our new set of Exam Essentials resources. This suite of resources was created by our team of PG tutors, who have years of experience writing (and passing!) all kinds of exams. They’ve pulled together a collection of their best practical, hands-on tips and tricks you can use to make the most of your exam experience.

These posts will be released throughout revision season, so keep checking back!

Revision Resources

If you need further support, we recommend our Revision Resources. These resources include Revision Bites, which outlines many of the most effective learning strategies, and our Lightning Sessions, which are 30-minute recorded classes covering topics such as revising from recorded lectures and revising for online exams.

For anyone who struggles with procrastination or lack of motivation, our Time Management Resources will also be helpful. Whether you need to plan your revision or stay focussed during study sessions, these resources will offer you the productivity boost you need to get through exams.

Finally, our 12-part Exam Essentials series will walk you through the revision process, from making a plan through to recovering after exams.

Ongoing Support

If you’ve attended sessions and read through our resources, we’re happy to help you take what you’ve learned and apply to it to your own revision strategies. We offer one-to-one appointments so you can get the support you need at a time that suits you.

One-to-One Appointments

Our one-to-one appointments are available to book throughout revision and exams. They last 30 minutes and run either in-person or online. Appointments are a great way to take what you’ve learned in our resources and work with an expert to develop strategies for how to apply the revision techniques to your subject.
