Maths and Stats

Whether you’re studying Nursing or Engineering, Psychology or Physics, chances are you’ll come across maths or stats at some point during your course. For some of us, the chance to work with numbers may be exciting, while others of us may find it a little daunting. Whatever you’re feeling, the university has plenty of support to help you do your best work.

Maths and Stats Hub

Looking for online resources to help you figure out a tricky bit of maths? Look no further than the Maths and Stats Hub. It’s packed with resources to support you as you work through elements of maths or stats on any of your modules.

Maths Café

If you’d like some in-person support, our colleagues in Science and Engineering offer a drop-in service for maths.

The café drop-in is a place for anyone doing mathematics modules, giving you the opportunity to chat to an experienced tutor to explore problems and find solutions. The café is also suitable for general maths questions which might not fit into any module. For example, the café can offer support if you are a Level 3 student and have forgotten something from Level 1 that you need now, or if you are working on a personal project that you need maths support with. We can try to help with all levels, but be aware that Level 3 and above often contain specialist topics that are best dealt with by individual module leader.

Feel free to bring your own snack, tea, coffee, or drink of your choice to the café!
