The oldest thing in the University Archives is this fragment of papyrus given to University College Dundee in acknowledgement of their support of the Egypt Exploration Fund (MS 142). It probably records the sale of a female slave (likely 8 years old) in Oxyrhynchus, Egypt on 22 August AD 99.
