While the University’s museums and galleries are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus emergency, we’re sharing more of our collections online. This is the latest in a series of films in which museum curator Matthew Jarron tells the stories behind some of our most interesting objects and artworks. In this video we look at the early history of Dundee Dental Hospital & School and the artistic interests of its first two chairmen, William Rettie and William Boyd. The film features images from our own collection (including stained glass by Ballantine and Douglas Strachan, paintings by William McTaggart, Leslie G Kinnear & James McIntosh Patrick, sculpture by Benno Schotz and Monart glass) as well as photo from the University Archives and private collections. You can find out more about our collections at www.dundee.ac.uk/museum.
