‘When I am laid to earth – Henry Purcell’
The famous lament from Purcell’s opera “Dido and Aeneas” is sung by Helen, a member of the DUMS Chamber Choir, alongside Music Director Graeme on the piano. Helen is a PhD student at University of Dundee and is researching stem cell signalling. A very hard piece to put together remotely (well for the singer anyway) due to it’s slowness and lack of rhythmic motion in the accompaniment – but Helen does a wonderful job.
