Jade Montserrat takes us through her top five books in the newest instalment of “What I am Reading Now…”.
Jade Montserrat is the recipient of the Stuart Hall Foundation Scholarship which supports her PhD at IBAR UCLan, and the development of her work from her Black diasporic perspective in the North of England. She works through drawing, painting, film, performance and many other mediums.
Her top five books which has shaped her current thinking, research and practice include Alice Walker’s In Search of Our Mother’s Garden, which has helped to shape her workshops and Elizabeth Ezra’s The Colonial Unconscious.
