For International Dance Day we’re delighted to share this fabulous film of Bollywood dance from Usha Mani created in collaboration with Dance Beatz Edinburgh (link below). Usha has been teaching Bollywood dance at the University of Dundee since 2018 and has conducted various dance events in the Global Room for Holi and Diwali.
She does this because she is passionate about Bollywood dance but also, as she is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion co-ordinator for student services, she organises these events to help students and staff from different cultures to meet via Bollywood dance.
When we moved to lockdown, she moved her classes online which are shared via the Global Room platform. The classes have been running since December 2020 via Zoom every Wednesday from 4.30 -4.45 p.m just to enable staff and students to relax and improve their emotional well-being during this pandemic.
