Meet the Editorial Board: Hannah Whaley, University of Dundee, UK

Hannah Whaley is a Scottish writer and an Assistant Director of the University of Dundee’s Library since 2009, having entered academic library management at a time of digital transition in the sector. She originally qualified as a software engineer and established her career in educational technology but has since studied business and creative practice, and holds both an MBA from Durham University and an MLitt from Dundee. Her work is currently focussed on scholarly resources and open access publishing, and her Research and Resources Division manage a complex array of licenses, software, services, physical and electronic resources to support academic study and investigation.

 

In 2021, Hannah was also Managing Editor for These Windows, a collection of writing and art created in collaboration with the V&A Museum Dundee and published by The Voyage Out Press and she is General Editor for Dundee University Review of the Arts. Hannah’s term as Vice Chair of a Leisure & Culture charity, AngusAlive, recently ended after five years of service, and she is currently Chair of the Management Board for the Scottish Universities Press and a member of the JISC Transitional Agreements Oversight Committee.
